We are all here because we love libraries! We have so many opportunities for you to help--and they range from the simple to the rime-consuming. Maybe YOU can do something even RIGHT NOW to keep up the passion for libraries, books, reading, and public education opportunities! Here are some projects you can join:
1. A Little Free Library! Build and maintain one of your own. If you can help those with libraries in maintaning the structure OR in reloading the books, that is a simple and easy way to participate.
2. Go to Library Board Meetings in Christian County. We go, we sit, we read books while we listen to the Board. We do not speak, we try not to react, but we sit in silent support of the library leadership.
3. Volunteer an hour or two with several programs:
A. PRIDEFEST JUNE 14 in Downtown Springfield. We will be right in front of the HIstory Museum on the Square. Come visit us! If you want, come hang out for an hour or two and help us run the booth for the day. We will need help from 11-5. If you can join us, please let us know and we will put you to "work" visiting with everyone at Pride.
B. Join us for BOOKBAG, mostly we need help organizing and packaging school supplies. E-mail us for more information. We will also need help when the time comes to distribute these packages to children and families.
C. We will be volunteering as individuals for Ozark AND Nixa School Districts as they do their annual Back-To-School-Bash. Here are the links--APPLY SOON!

Students often feel that there is nothing they can do, but there are actually many ways students can become involved--some involve public action, some you can do in your own bedroom! To see what you, as a student, can do, check out our Students page.
